• So. I drunk-tweeted a little about it at the time, but I actually had an epic night last night. Epic as in: went to see some bands, got drunk, danced, spanked a girl onstage, got more drunk, hung out with said bands at the venue, went as a huge jolly drunk goth party to a bar, got yet further drunk, talked about My Chemical Romance, did shots, got a photo with Wil Francis and then went home (and ate noodles and drank two pints of water).
• Wil Francis is really hot onstage. Like when choking himself with his own mic cable. Unf.
• Now I have a craving for black skinny jeans and huge-soled creepers.
• I realised last night that I really miss having a band I can legitimately call my band: like a band whose members know my name and are happy to see me; a band I can dorkily cry in the front row for because it’s just so damn awesome to be there with their music; a band I care enough about to think I’ll never stop caring about them. In related news: I was an intense teenager.
• Today I just spent the day being hungover and allergy-ridden, and ate donuts and yoghurt, and watched a lot of Criminal Minds.

Besides the hype, besides the technical fuckups of NASDAQ, besides the overvaluation and offering too many shares during their IPO, I think the reason Facebook’s stock is failing as much as it is right now is that people have come to realize that Everybody’s Favorite Social Network is just too obnoxious, intrusive, and data-scrapingly assholish in the way it treats everyone from its most ardent users to, sadly, people on third-party platforms like, I dunno, TUMBLR, that perhaps want nothing at all to do with the privacy black hole that is Mark Zuckerberg’s dickishness incarnate but wake up and log on to find THIS UTTER BULLSHIT.

The above article is an update.  Her mother went to appeal to keep her out of the psychiatric ward and lost.  She will be institutionalized because of her expression of her gender.  She will be held until she conforms to male gender and then released to foster care, not her mother who was supporting her.

Please, if you haven’t signed the petition, sign it, reblog it, ask your friends to sign it. We’ve managed to get 40K signatures for a pageant model, we’ve only gotten 11K for a little girl about to have her life ruined.  Lets get on the ball and spread the word.

Guys, this is important. Malene is a transgender friend of mine, who’s participating in a contest to win cosmetic surgery for a set of breasts, but the people in charge of the competition have continually fiddled with her votes, and even gone as far removing her picture. While her picture is now back, she had her votes removed and had to start over. She’s been in the lead for a good while despite all this, but then suddenly yesterday, a new picture surfaced in the contest with more than double her votes.

This isn’t fair and reeks of cheating, and it’d be great if you could help out by giving her your vote. There’s more information at the link (also in English). You need a Facebook account to vote on the website, but it’s only to make sure no one votes several times for the same person (supposedly, hah.) Malene’s picture is the 6th up from the bottom of the page, on the right side.
